Position: Production Manager
Location: Khopoli
Industry: Plastic Manufacturing

Experience Required:

12–15 years of relevant experience

Mandatory experience in plastic extrusion processes

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

• Plan, organize, and execute daily production activities to achieve production targets.
• Manage production operations across Blown Film Extrusion, Extrusion Lamination, Lamination, Slitting, and related processes.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
• Monitor production parameters and ensure adherence to process specifications.
• Minimize machine downtime through effective planning and coordination with the maintenance team.
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, and plant efficiency.

Process Improvement

• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify process bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Reduce waste, rejection, and material consumption through process optimization.
• Lead productivity improvement and cost reduction projects.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Monitor product quality and resolve process-related quality issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement CAPA for customer complaints and internal quality concerns.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, BRC, GMP, HACCP, and other applicable quality systems.

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, engineers, operators, and technicians.
• Plan manpower allocation and shift management.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and technical training programs.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Safety & Environment

• Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the plant.
• Ensure good housekeeping and adherence to safety procedures.

New Product Development

• Support product development and commercial trials.
• Coordinate with R&D, Quality, Sales, and Marketing teams for new product introductions.
• Participate in process validation and scale-up activities.

Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate closely with PPC, Maintenance, Quality, Stores, Procurement, and Sales teams.
• Monitor raw material availability and inventory levels.
• Ensure timely execution of production plans to meet customer delivery commitments.

Reporting

• Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
• Analyze production performance, OEE, rejection, downtime, and productivity metrics.
• Present improvement plans and performance updates to senior management

Key Requirements:

Strong knowledge of extrusion technology and plastic processing

Experience in product development and lifecycle management

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Plastics/Polymer/Mechanical Engineering or Diploma.
• Experience: Proven experience in plastic extrusion (pipes, sheets, films).
• Technical Skills: Expertise in extrusion machinery, material handling (HDPE, PVC, PP), process control, and troubleshooting.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge: PPC, Lean Manufacturing, Quality Systems (ISO).
