Procurement & Supply Chain Executive based at Dabaspeth Bangalore

Job Description:

We are building a reusable, all-liquid launcher powered by the best-in-class 80-ton
Astrobase FFSC LOX/methane engine, at the fastest pace globally. As Procurement
& Supply Chain Executive, you will own day-to-day vendor management, sourcing,
procurement, and supply chain coordination — ensuring that materials, tools, and
outsourced components reach production and test on time, at the right cost, and to the
right quality. You will identify and develop reliable suppliers, negotiate competitive
pricing, manage purchase orders end to end, and drive cost optimization while
maintaining quality and delivery standards across the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Vendor Development & Supplier Management
 Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for materials, components,
tools, and outsourced services.
 Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality,
delivery, and responsiveness.
 Manage multiple vendors across categories; track supplier performance and
drive corrective actions where needed.
 Develop alternate sources to reduce single-vendor dependency and supply
risk.

2. Sourcing & Procurement
 Source materials, tools, and components required to support production and
project schedules.
 Obtain competitive quotations, conduct techno-commercial comparisons, and
negotiate pricing and terms.
 Raise, track, and close purchase orders end to end — from requisition through
delivery and invoice reconciliation.
 Expedite vendor deliveries through regular follow-up; escalate delays early
and drive recovery.

3. Supply Chain & Outsourcing Coordination
 Coordinate outsourcing activities — identify suitable job-work vendors, share
specifications, monitor progress, and ensure quality and timely delivery.
 Manage inventory coordination to maintain adequate stock levels without
excess; flag long-lead items early.
 Ensure smooth supply chain operations across procurement, logistics, and
stores, supporting both production and test campaigns
 Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to
align procurement with program priorities.

4. Cost Optimization & Compliance
 Drive cost optimization through competitive sourcing, bulk negotiations, and
value engineering with suppliers.
 Maintain procurement records, quotation comparisons, PO logs, and vendor
documentation for audit readiness.
 Ensure all procured materials and services meet specified quality and delivery
standards.

 Experience sourcing precision-machined components, welding consumables,
cryogenic-grade materials, or aerospace hardware.
 Prior exposure to vendor audits, supplier quality, or incoming inspection
coordination.
 Knowledge of import procurement, customs, and freight logistics.

   Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain
  Management, or a related discipline.
   3–6 years of experience in vendor development, sourcing, procurement, or supply
  chain operations — preferably in manufacturing, aerospace, defence, or a
  hardware-intensive industry.
   Hands-on experience with purchase order management, vendor negotiation, and
  supplier follow-up.
   Familiarity with inventory management, stores coordination, and logistics.
   Proficiency with procurement tools/ERP systems and strong Excel/documentation
  skills.
