Job Description:
The Chief of Staff (CoS), is a senior-level position, handling a host of
responsibilities from strategy and financial modelling to day-to-day business and
operations management, allowing the Director to focus on overarching Group
priorities and growing the business.
As a strategist and implementer, the successful candidate will work to streamline
activities within the organisation based on the priorities of the Director. These
would range from assessing business opportunities, developing product and financial
models, crafting business strategies, and overseeing project implementation.
The CoS will act as an adviser to the Director and a bridge with the senior
management team – responsible for analysing business intelligence data and
tracking progress. The CoS will coordinate the execution of strategic
initiatives including analysing business proposals directed to the Director, determine
the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individuals to manage,
whilst “closing-the-loop”. The CoS would also take ownership of key projects that the
company looks to undertake as part of its business growth across verticals and
markets.
The successful candidate must have the ability to work strategically and
collaboratively across departments, dealing with stakeholders across the global
Hinduja Group, CXO level personnel and Heads of Department across the country.
Whilst the role is based out of Mumbai, it will entail travel as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution: Set strategic priorities, develop goals,
and execute plans to achieve business objectives.
Project Management: Oversee and manage complex projects across
departments, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met while
addressing challenges and potential risks.
Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements to
optimise workflows, enhance productivity, and support a collaborative culture.
Stakeholder Management: Act as a point of contact between key
stakeholders and team members, ensuring clear communication and
coordination.
Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis and research to support
strategic decision-making, presenting actionable insights on industry trends,
competitive analysis, growth opportunities, and analysing business
intelligence data and tracking progress.
Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and support team members,
fostering a positive and inclusive work environment while driving professional
growth and development.
Executive Support: Assist with preparations for high-stakes meetings,
manage agendas, and ensure follow-through on key action items.
Communication: Prepare internal and external communications, including
presentations, reports, and updates to stakeholders.
Special Projects: Lead and execute special initiatives, adapting to changing
priorities and driving results.
Qualifications:
Education: Considering the critical nature of this role, we expect the right
candidate to have exceptional skill sets including a Master’s Degree in
Business Administration, or a Chartered Accountant. An MBA or relevant
advanced degree is a plus.
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :
Experience: 12+ years in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with at least 5
years in a leadership or Chief of Staff role, ideally within the media,
communications, or technology industry. The candidate should possess a
strong financial outlook, impeccable managerial and interpersonal skills and a
proven track record of delivering complex assignments.
