Job Description:

Mandatory Requirements

  1. Education: Must be a Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized board/university.
  2. Experience: Must have minimum 14 to 15 years 

Safety Manager/ Deputy Manager is responsible for ensuring all health, safety, and environmental regulations and guidelines are met at the solar project site. This role involves identifying potential hazards, implementing safety systems and programs, and promoting a culture of safety. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is proactive in risk assessment and compliance, with a focus on reducing accidents, injuries, and environmental impact.

• Implementation of EHS Management Systems, Transmit company Corporate HSE Policy & Procedures. EHS plan for EPC projects and O&M. Overall responsibility of development, implementing and monitoring EHS programs.
• Impart EHS Orientation for the new Workforce & Organize Refresher Trainings on need basis EHS aspects.
• Organized, Preparing, introducing, monitoring of concepts, rules, and regulations, governing EHS and fire protection.
• Coordinate with Site Management and ensure compliance for the Internal /External.
• Carrying out Job Safety Analysis (JSA), QRA, HIRA and Risk Assessment. Preparing checklist for different nature of job based on risk assessment Data Centre. (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
• Preparing preventive measures to avoid the hazards identified in the EPC project & Data Centre.
• Ensure and Make Risk assessment of all jobs practicing in the project site with concerned site engineers/Manager.
• Dealing with clients, consultants, and government authorities on EHS & Execution related matters.
• Formation of safety committee-site inspection and conducting meeting.
• Safety performance evaluation of sub-contractors. Coordination with client & sub-contractor to implement safety at site.
• Selection and procurement of personal protective equipment’s / safety equipment’s etc.
• Ensuring Firefighting and First Aid facilities. Periodical inspection & checking up of tools, tackles, equipment, and machines.
• Continuous review & updating, Coordination of HSE/EHS, Safety and fire & safety policy, manuals, checklists & SOP, always keep in mind the company's policy, which is the target, zero accident.
• Creating safety awareness among workers through Toolbox talks, Safety induction / PEP TALKS /Safety mass meetings / Job Safety Analysis/ Conduct/Coordinate fire & evacuation drills etc.
• Carrying out Safety inspection of work locations, work method, Men, Machinery, Material, Vehicle movement, Tool –Tackles and stores etc.

An ESG Safety Engineer in wind and solar plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and sustainable development and operation of renewable energy projectsTheir responsibilities include implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, managing safety requirements for subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with ESG regulations. They also focus on promoting a safety-first culture and providing safety training to all personnel. 
 
1. Safety Protocol Implementation and Enforcement:
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. 
     
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans for potential incidents. 
     
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments on equipment, work areas, and practices. 
     
2. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: 
  • Identify potential hazards and implement strategies to minimize risk.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, including incident and injury rates.
