Sr. Design Engineer – Rooftop Solar and BESS Pune

Job Description:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Site Visits & Client Coordination

• Coordinate with clients for site visits as per proposal and detailed engineering requirements.
• Plan and conduct site visits to collect roof, structural, and electrical data required for engineering.
• Ensure accurate and complete site data collection for design and execution teams.

2. Stakeholder & People Coordination

• Arrange and participate in client meetings along with the BD team for presales and post-sales support.
• Coordinate with internal technical teams for data sharing and knowledge transfer.
• Liaise with HSE and Asset Management teams for design approvals.
• Coordinate with internal operations teams for smooth data and document handover.
• Prepare weekly progress and update reports and present them to the Regional Manager.

3. Detailed Engineering & Design

• Maintain project documentation including OTM, Scope Matrix, KOM documents for reference.
• Prepare Module Design Layout (MDL) and detailed Design Reports.
• Ensure designs comply with local Grid Codes, relevant international standards, and statutory requirements.
• Develop detailed plant layouts, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), and all GFC drawings.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in AutoCAD (including shortcut keys).
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), earthing reports, ESMS documentation, and other detailed design deliverables.
• Validate component drawings submitted by manufacturers.
• Perform client load profile analysis for BESS capacity calculations.
• Lead BESS detailed design, including:
• Battery chemistry selection
• Power converter selection
• EMS & BMS schematic definition
