Head – Research and Development Bhubaneswar
Job Description:
The incumbent will be responsible for innovation, research, and development of novel molecules and
specialty chemicals for applications in mineral processing industries. This position will be responsible for
the company’s overall innovation and product development strategy, managing researchers and
laboratories towards formulating, testing, and assistance in manufacturing and field deployment. The
incumbent would be expected to be subject matter experts in the relevant fields, as well as managers
who can successfully execute R&D projects.
Key role specific responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the entire R&D function including establishing vision, products, product
features, resources, budgets, projects, processes, innovation, and technology transfer.
2. Responsible for creating global product portfolio of specialty chemical performance aids for
mineral processing industries.
3. Developing new product or feature through R&D and formal Design of Experiments in a lab
environment.
4. Creating product plans and NPD programs to support product and revenue growth.
5. Performing implementation/qualification in manufacturing environments.
6. Determining customer needs and KPIs by undertaking market research, benchmarking
products with competition, identifying product gaps and generating new ideas that grow
market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
7. Supervising detailed design of experiment, material selection, verification & validation,
manufacturability & serviceability study while meeting the project schedule & performance
requirements.
8. Managing IP related inputs and documentation as required.
9. Researching emerging technologies in academia and industries to develop innovation plans
and technology roadmaps for the company.
10. Collaboration with external partners for new product/technology development helpful in
enhancing the company’s product portfolio.
11. Implementation of quality control measures in the entire R&D department.
12. Preparation of progress, status and forecast reports on key aspects of function.
13. Developing training and capability development of the department by identifying gap areas
and alignment with the company’s vision.
14. Leading and motivating a team of high-quality scientists, researchers, engineers, and lab
technicians.
