Job Description:
Position: Area Sales Manager - Modern Trade
MBA (2018 to 21) batch with Malayalam language and would have handled Modern Trade Channel (Lulu experience is preferable)
Qualification & Experience
MBA with 3-5 years of work experience out of which minimum 2 years as ASM focusing on Modern Trade segment only for FMCG products.
Key Responsibilities:
•Sales Management: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets in the modern trade segment.
•Manage sales operations in assigned territory, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
•Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and prepare regular sales reports.
•Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and major retail chains.
•Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of trade with key accounts.
•Ensure timely collection of payments from accounts.
•Promotion and Merchandising: Plan and execute promotional activities and campaigns in coordination with the marketing team.
•Ensure proper placement and visibility of products in stores.
•Oversee merchandising activities to enhance product visibility and sales.
•Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and train the sales team to achieve their targets and improve performance.
•Conduct regular team meetings to review performance and provide feedback.
•Develop and implement training programs for team development.
•Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
•Provide insights and recommendations to the management for business growth.
•Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for expansion.
•Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
•Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities, market conditions, and competitor analysis.
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and transactions.
Qualifications:
•MBA in Marketing from a Tier 1 / 2 Institute only
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, with a focus on modern trade channels.
•Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
•Strong understanding of the FMCG/Consumer Goods industry.
•Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to analyze sales data and market trends.
•Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Willingness to travel within the assigned area.
