Job Description: Deputy Manager Legal - Litigation
Position Overview:
The Deputy Manager Legal - Litigation is responsible for managing the organization’s litigation processes. This role involves developing litigation strategies, overseeing case management, and representing the organization’s interests in court. The position requires close collaboration with the Legal Head, the legal team, external counsel, and internal stakeholders to manage legal risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with organizational goals.
2. Manage all phases of litigation, including preparation and filing of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
3. Represent the company in legal proceedings and hearings.
4. Prepare and file legal documents and monitor and manage case progress, ensuring adherence to deadlines and court schedules.
5. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
6. Assess legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
7. Maintain regular updates and reports on case status, strategies, and legal developments and Communicate updates and outcomes to senior management.
8. Manage litigation budgets and external legal resources.
9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel and other legal advisors
10. Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal trends.
11. Should have experience in IPR, CIVIL and CRIMINAL Matters
Qualifications:
Education: LLB or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
- - Experience: 5-7 years in litigation management, with experience in complex cases.
Skills/Other Requirement:
1. Knowledge of litigation processes.
2. Strong analytical and communication skills.
3. Proficiency in MS Office, legal research, and case management tools.
4. Office-based with extensive travel for court proceedings across the nation.
Reports To:
- Chief General Counsel or Litigation Manager.
